We've talked a lot about how to get glowing skin, but having healthy, radiant hair is also important to your aesthetics!
To maintain healthy hair, here are some golden rules provided by Stylish:
How often to I wash my hair?
Often, people make the mistake of washing their hair everyday! Although it is tempting to wash your hair daily to maintain cleanliness, you are also washing out vital oils which keep your hair healthy. You really only need to wash your hair two times to three times a week max!
Cool showers and scalp massages.
When washing your hair it is good to avoid hot showers as hot water will dry out your scalp and create tangles.
Where you shampoo also counts in keeping that healthy hair. You should use shampoo on your scalp, not the ends of your hair! The shampoo will reach the ends as you wash it out; it's not good to scrub the ends. Also massaging your scalp is a good way to detoxify and encourage blood circulation.
Towel dry before applying conditioner.
Before you apply conditioner, it is good practice to give it a gentle towel dry. This removes excess water in your hair, giving room for the conditioner to penetrate the hair shaft and deliver the necessary moisture. You may also squeeze out the water if short on time. Also concentrate on the ends and avoid the roots when conditioning!
Hair- drying Techniques.
One of the worst things you can do to your hair is overheat it! So when blow drying your hair use a low- heat setting, keeping the nozzle pointed sideways and not downwards. Try flipping your hair upside down and move around, keeping the hair dryer at a distance. More movement creates more voluminous hair!
