They say the most beautiful thing about a person is their smile. So why do people not put much thought into the health of their teeth?
Some might say they are too busy to brush, floss and
maintain their teeth but it is crucial to maintain a healthy mouth. Some people
believe others get perfect teeth from their good genes while this is partly
true it is not merely the reason. Some people even put the blame on their
parents and say they are the cause of their bad teeth. Most people believe they are doing all they
can to clean their teeth the right way but in fact they are damaging them even
more. Dentist Mark Burhenne explains that brushing your teeth back and fourth
will cause the enamel on your teeth to erode while also increasing the
likelihood of your teeth becoming sensitive to hot and cold foods and liquids.
Also over brushing can increase your chances of developing cavities and
receding gums. The bristles move in a back and fourth motion which means they
bounce off the surface of teeth rather than getting in between them.
The solution for this is to use small circular motions with
your brush in the direction of your gum growth, also placing your toothbrush at
a 45 degree angle where the teeth meet the gums. I highly recommend clicking on
this link and watching a video on how to correctly maintain that healthy
looking smile!
